The first pictures are from the car being stuck on day 3, pictures following are day 4. The kids stopped by the bar and got virgin strawberry daquiris, then we boarded the taxi boat that took us out to the sail boat, that looks like a small pirate ship. The name of the sail cruise was Mi Dushi (papiamento for sweetheart). Which you will see my too sweethearts in one of the photos with me. They were hotties!!! Kylie was able to give one of them a kiss after he saved her. I took her in the water to snorkel, the water was too choppy and she freaked out and grabbed my neck trying to drag me under. I cannot snorkel with someone having a choke hold on me. Anyway I was fighting the waves and trying to get her back to the boat, the hottie had to jump in and grab her and get her back to the boat. I went back in since I was now winded. So needless to say we did not get to snorkel at the boat wreck site. We then went closer to shore (where the waters were calmer) and we could not get Kylie to go back out, but we got Talmage and Crezna out as long as Trent or I held one of their hands. We saw a eel and some fish...that was sooo cool. I would love to do it again. We will get another chance to see the wreck tomorrow, we are taking a submarine that goes to the wreck site.
Anyway open bar on the snorkel trip, refreshments were served, it was fun. I had several waters, a coke, and some fruit punch (all with no alcohol). After the snorkeling was over, they started to let us rope swing off the boat into the water. That was so fun, I went like 5 times. Trent went once, since kids can't swim and life vests were put away they did not go. Mom and Dad watched, Dad took lots of photos, several of people I and him don't know. Oh well. Anchor up we went back to the spot where the water taxi picked us up and took us in. We then went to Tomato Charlies for Talmages birthday then went to try and find a birthday cake. All grocery stores close at 8pm...We found a store that was open until 9. The store was owned and operated by oriental people. Asking them for candles was hilarious. We were playing charades, I was blowing, Trent was pretending to light the candle. They took us to the ice...go figure. We stopped at a gas station and paid over 100 dollars for gas, milk, and bread. We came back to hotel, made the cake (box mix w/ canned frosting)...w/ eggs and oil and ice cream for $26.00USD. Did I mention they ship everything in...everything (except bread--they have a big bread bakery somewhere on the island). Talmage's birthday was fun. Don't know how we will top this for next year :)

Day 3 on Aruba
Ok, this is yesterdays photos, I still have not downloaded the picture of the stuck car, I have to get that off dads camera, he has over 400 pictures that I am importing to my computer (that takes time). We have seen goats and donkeys, there are some pictures of the goats on day 3. As you all know day 3 was adventure day, the car got stuck. The sad part about all of it, was the natural pool (which is in the pictures) it is the picture looking down at waves and rocks surrounding a natural pool area. Not worth the money we invested into it, but oh well.
The name of the man who pulled us out is Speed (we found that out today). He is apperantly known on the island.
The cave that we went and saw was the Quadarikriki (or something like that). Lots of bats, we did not tell mom until she was in and had passed the first area with bats. There is a picture of indian writing which is on the wall in the cave, and the huge rock in the cave is the cheif of the cave, you can make out his face, chin on right side, with mouth, nose, eyes, huge forehead, and a cap on top. I will point out when we get home if you cannot make it out. We took a tour of the cave with a nice couple from England. The cave was soooo hot, but fun.
Anyway all is well here in Aruba.

Day 3 in Aruba
Went off road again today, to the other side of the island. Went and found a cool cave, you walk into...there is a hole for light to come through, you walk through more dark to another chamber that has a hole in the top for light to come in. This was not like the caves at home that are cool the farther you go in...this was so stinkin hot inside. Every dark chanber we were in when you flashed your flashlights at the ceiling the bats would freak out and start flying around.
We then decided to go to this place called the Natural Pool. It is a little inlet that has rocks all around so the waves splash up into it for water to get in, but there was no water gushing you back into the ocean. Anyway, we get there and it was a lot of stairs down so we decided to not go down to it, just look at from above. The road getting in was horrible, so on the map it had dashed lines (which up until now signified a road)...dirt road, but road. We got down to the bottom of this hill and headed toward a beach type that had tire tracks across it. K, I don't know what kind of cars got through there, we got stuck...not a little stuck we were majorly stuck...after about an hour of digging sand and putting rocks under the back tires, nothing was working, so Trent, me, Crezna and Kylie started hicking out. Luckily when we got to the top of the first hill there were 2 men on atv's and they took Trent, Crezna, Kylie and me out to the entrance to this abondend shack they had another atv halfway out so Trent got on it, and Trent and the 2 guys went back in for mom, dad, and Talmage. Have I mentioned that the sun sets at 7pm...I ended up calling the hotel to tell them to send a cab, then I called 911, when the others were not coming out. They said they would send helicopter and to keep calling them since they could not call us, the second time I called he said helicopter is not working, but police are coming. Right then the others came out, we atv'ed to the nearest market, I went in and bought all of us water. The hotel was finally able to find a cabbie that would come get us.
The cabbie was asking about our adventure and wondering how we were going to get the car out, he called a friend, who had a friend, who had a winch and 4 wheel drive. That man came and picked Trent and I up from the hotel, and we went back in the extreme dark to retrieve the car. 2 hours, 2 major headaches, and little wiser we were out and happy to be back at the hotel. No dinner, one bottle of water since lunch, we are very exhausted. Anyway if anyone tells you to see the Natural Pool (or Conchi-which is papiemento for natural pool) tell them you can pee in the same spot you are standing and see your own natural pool.

Day 2 in Aruba
It is very hot down here. Aruba is about 16 miles off the coast of Venezuela. Island is only 19 miles long, 6 miles wide (at its widest area). Not very big, we thought we could drive around the whole thing in a day. We were unsuccessful, the north side is all dirt roads. I am so happy that we went with the 4 wheel drive SUV. Everything is expensive down here. And whenever we pay US dollars for something, they give us our change in Aruban Florens. So I think we will be making a trip to the bank before we leave. I want to save some florens, but not $70.00 worth. Still havin fun, maybe we will go snorkling tomorrow...we'll see.
